Mysterious Burnt City shows new traces of life

Excavations in mysterious Burnt City in southeast Iran have discovered some new traces of life.

Excavations done by a team of Iranian, Italian, and Serbian archaeologists in mysterious Burnt City in southeast Iran have discovered some new traces of life.

The figurines unearthed at the UNESCO-registered Burnt city in Sistan-Baluchestan Province reportedly belong to the prehistorical settlements.

The archeologists have so far dug trenches at ruined structures to have access to earlier layers of human occupation.

Called Shahr-e Sukhteh in Persian, the Burnt City is associated with four rounds of civilization, all burnt down by sets of fire.

The excavations show that the residents of the city had great skills in weaving, creating fine arts such as decorative objects, stone carving, and pottery painting.
